Meet Kate

Kate Caisley is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Development and Global Health through University of Buffalo’s Public Health and Architecture & Urban Planning departments. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Development Studies from Calvin University. She is trained in community development and program management and has ample experience working in the refugee resettlement field in a variety of roles. She has previously worked in Monitoring & Evaluation with grassroots maternal health education groups in informal urban settlements of Nairobi, Kenya. While studying in Buffalo, New York, she has begun conducting research on local refugee-led organizations with a focus on how they succeed. Outside of work, Kate enjoys exploring with her dog Cohiba and trying any kind of new foods she can find.
