
Bio
Hasangani (Hasi) Edema is passionate about the principles of social inclusion and justice, gender equality and equity, and promoting protection through her work. As Program Coordinator, Hasi supports programs such as Stopping as Success: Locally Led Transitions in Development (SAS+) and RISK III. She provides technical inputs and ensures the effective implementation of grants and contracts by managing accountable relations with partners and donors.
Hasi has five years of experience in humanitarian response and development, including in fragile and post-conflict contexts, giving her a solid understanding of humanitarian standards and principles, grounded in practice. She has worked in her native country, Sri Lanka, and also in Iraq as a Program Officer with World Vision. She has significant experience in all aspects of grant acquisition, including program design, proposal development, and compliance. Hasi also has substantial experience with remote management. Prior to her work with International NGOs, she served as a volunteer with United Nations Volunteers and UNESCO, where her work focused on youth engagement and outreach.
Outside of CDA, Hasi enjoys cultivating her hobbies that includes, singing/music, painting, and travelling. She is a recent graduate from Tufts University with a Master’s in Humanitarian Assistance and holds a Bachelors from LSE in International Relations.
